The challenge

Months before their second annual Champions & Legends fundraising weekend and gala, ABIS, a 501(c)(3), asked Uniquely Driven to help drive ticket sales and donations through public relations support. Our challenge was that ABIS was a young nonprofit that wasn’t known to many people. So, we had to build the story behind ABIS to help drive awareness of their mission and the importance of the fundraising weekend.

Solution

In the weeks and days leading up to the event, we utilized Gary Charles, founder & CEO of ABIS and other gala honorees to tell the ABIS story through national media that appealed to sports enthusiasts and supporters of racial equity.

Millions of media impressions were secured prior to and after the event. ABIS was featured in notable print publications including Ebony and Minority Business Entrepreneur magazine, national sports podcasts such as For the Love of Sports and GirlChat Sports, as well as the syndicated radio show The Francene Marie Show. ABIS also saw a 20% increase in followers across its social channels due to the national brand exposure.
